Melanie Krueger, OMD, EAMP, L.Ac., LMP
Melanie decided to become a healer when she was five years old, and then 20 years ago made the decision to enter Chinese Medical School. She practiced in her private clinic in Flagstaff, AZ, with the full range of medical cases seen at a General Family Practice clinic. Patients ranged through all age groups and included internal medicine, stress and emotional related conditions, cancer and HIV/AIDS, all types of sports and accident trauma cases, assisting a group of Mid-Wives, and working with several local Allopathic and Naturopathic Physicians. She also formed a Non-Profit practice specifically to detoxify and treat various drug addictions for Native Americans on the Navajo and Hopi Reservations.
Her treatment of sports related injuries brought her to the attention of the Director of the Spa at Gainey Village, in Scottsdale, Arizona, and she was asked to join the staff as the in-house TCM practitioner. At the Gainey, Melanie provided the full range of TCM to professional athletes from all of the Phoenix area sports teams, professional athletes from all types of individual sports, Yoga and Pilates teachers, professional dancers, as well as very serious amateur athletes. Other club members included movie stars, stage actors, the business elite of Phoenix and Scottsdale as well as their families, including their children.
During her 7 years at the Gainey, Melanie was asked by the top team of Urological Surgeons in Phoenix to integrate Chinese Medicine into their practice to assist in the recovery of their post-op patients, as well as to tonify and strengthen their patients to lesson the surgical trauma and reduce the healing time they would require. Here, she worked closely with the surgeons with all types of male and female related urological disorders, and in many cases her therapy was instrumental in the reversal of the condition prior to the planned surgery, as well as to conditions they couldn’t cure.
Melanie also provides Acupunctural Facelifts (Cosmetic Acupuncture) to both ladies and gentlemen with fabulous results by rejuvenating skin and tightening the neck and cheeks. The eyes brighten and stress and heaviness of the spirit are removed.
The widely known and very successful National Acupuncture Detoxification Association program (NADA) is part of the services Melanie provides for people who would like to break their addictions to cigarettes, alcohol, pharmaceutical or recreational drugs, or to rid other toxins from the body.
Melanie also has experience assisting patients recovering from, or undergoing, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Additionally, she provides assistance in recovering from all types of post-surgical trauma as well as strengthening and tonifying the body prior to surgery to help reduce the trauma experienced during surgical procedures.
As part of her therapy, Melanie always addresses the underlying stress that is a part of our day-to-day lives. Stress relief is a fundamental aspect of acupuncture to improve one’s overall health.
Melanie invites you to discuss your health issues and needs with her to see how acupuncture can enhance your health and spiritual well being.

Doraine Raichart, MSAOM, L.Ac., LMP
Doraine has been seeing patients at Wellbeing Center and in Bothell since licensure in 2009, with a number of people who still come in to see her since she began practice.
In addition to treating chronic and acute musculoskeletal pain of all kinds, Doraine has successfully treated migraines and headaches, digestive issues, appetite and weight disorders, fatigue, anxiety/stress, women’s health concerns including dysmenorrhea and perimenopausal symptoms, as well as neuropathic pain that has resisted all previous treatment methods.
Because Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches differential diagnosis from a completely different perspective, acupuncture provides a unique approach to characterizing and resolving stubborn mysterious pain for which western/allopathic medicine may be unable to find a cause. Whether it is an unidentified pain that began a week ago, or pain and dysfunction remaining after a decades-old traumatic injury or surgery, acupuncture has the potential to reduce or eliminate it!
Doraine utilizes a number of modalities to aid in an individual’s return to optimal health. Depending on the condition, and the individual seeking treatment, Doraine uses whisker-fine needles as well as cupping, tuina (Chinese Medical Massage), guasha (dermal friction), electrostim, and Acutonics tuning forks. Tuning forks are especially helpful for very needle-shy people who are too anxious to relax with needles. Forks also provide a profoundly relaxing enhancement to the acupuncture points selected for a particular treatment.
Doraine’s background in engineering and ergonomic assessment is also useful in helping the patient identify what work or leisure habits are exacerbating their nagging pain in the neck, shoulder, arm or elbow. Often the root cause can be traced back to workstation setup, and Doraine can provide specific education on the ideal setup. Working together as partners for the patient’s health, we can affect small changes to reap huge benefits and further speed the road to recovery.
Doraine is also certified by NADA to provide detoxification and withdrawal support for the recovery from many various addictions, including tobacco, alcohol, food, and prescription drugs (with the knowledge and support of your PCP).
As a lifelong competitive and recreational athlete, Doraine has a passion for supporting others in their own fitness goals. Doraine enjoys mountain and road biking, hiking, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, yoga, dance, and martial arts. Barefoot /minimalist running since 2012 complements Doraine’s special interest in sports medicine, particularly knee, hip, and foot biomechanics and treating podiatric pain and dysfunction.
Near the completion of her AOM degree, Doraine participated in a month-long China externship at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine teaching clinic where she shadowed TCM doctors and received additional training in integrative medicine.
Postgraduate studies and continuing education
While at the Northshore YMCA, Doraine completed an instructor course in Pilates Reformer in order to teach classes which profoundly change the way one moves and utilizes core muscles to prevent injury and create a stronger foundation for all activities.
Doraine has studied 3 levels of Yi Ren Qigong under Dr. Guan-Cheng Sun at the Institute of Qigong and Integrative Medicine, with the eventual goal of completing the Medical Qigong Therapist certification.
There exist many different styles of acupuncture (Japanese hara, Korean hand, French auricular, etc.) — enough to study for a lifetime, which is one of the many reasons Doraine chose to learn and practice this fascinating and effective medicine after 20 years in the engineering field.
One emerging field where acupuncture is proving to be very popular is “anti-aging”, also known as facial rejuvenation. Doraine has several protocols which can bring the youthful and energizing glow created inside to show on the outside. Be sure to ask about these protocols if interested whenever you come in for treatment.
